Just a thirty-minute drive along the coast from Yehliu is Keelung.

Keelung

Keelung is a major port city situated in the northeastern part of Taiwan. It borders New Taipei with which it forms the Taipei–Keelung metropolitan area.

There is not much of a mention about Keelung and its unusual landscape, but the area is virtually identical to Yehliu.

This biology is quite likely to be part of a similar species as the organism from around the coast. The only comparison I could find that comes close to what we have here is the surface of a plant under a scanning electron microscope as you can see in the image below.

Image [A] is a microscopic view of the surface of a plant leaf; I’m not declaring this structure is a leaf, I’m just highlighting the similarities. I believe we would need to consider this sort of scale to figure out exactly what we are looking at here in Taiwan.
